Can I use apples that are past their prime to make applesauce?

I make this killer applesauce in my crock pot. Just apples, lots of spices and lemon juice. I bought a 3# bag of Honeycrisps awhile back, and now they are a bit shriveled. I hate to waste food, especially Honeycrisp apples because they are pricey! Would these work in the slow-cooker, or should I just bite the bullet and toss them?
