Have your tipping habits changed during Covid?

Curious if others' tipping habits have changed. For me, I tip more (25%-50%, depending on service), but I am using tipped services far less overall. I am trying to help locally owned businesses stay afloat. Just wondering if other people's habits have changed.

Hi Jennifer! My tipping habits have changed during this time of re-opening and during the whole pandemic really. While I've always been a generous tipper (which comes from years of experience waiting tables myself), tipping has been a good way to show appreciation to the people who are working and keeping things going. At restaurants and for food delivery I've upped my tipping to 22-25% of the bill currently. I also have provided delivery people needed goodies and supplies (cleaning products, snacks, water, etc) at my front door to help themselves. I feel like tipping is a good way to show appreciation, and also help people get back on their feet. And to say, "hey, I've missed you!" to those people who weren't able to work for so long.

  2. Agreed with Shawn - I've always been on the generous side - I spent a lot of time waiting tables when I was younger - and now even more so.  I've also bought gift cards from local businesses, which I'd never really done before.
