If you are a bean lover, I have some bad news....if you want Paleo to work...you gotta skip out on beans.
Try and avoid legumes...beans...black, red, white, pinto, kidney, lima...you name it. Even green beans and string beans. Containing Phytate (phytic acid) which is a natural compound that is found in nuts and grains, and beans and seeds of plants.
The absorption of calcium, zinc, and iron from foods is impared eventually over time causing a mineral deficiency. This can bind those dietary minerals together causing issues.
It’s an anti-nutrient so if they must be consumed on paleo, they have to be in very small amounts. This phytic acid will also affect protein digestibility negatively.
