I look at camping equipment a couple times a year; we have a very nice 5th wheel, so we do not ever have to rough it, but there are some places here- most actually- which our 5th wheel just cannot go.  So I try to talk DH into roughing it in a tent.

DH spent 21 years in the Army- he does NOT want to rough it.  But, I look, anyway.  And what I have found is, those plain, canvas, double sized cots look terribly uncomfortable- they have a bar right up the middle to make sure you'll feel it all night long.

If it were me, I'd go with something more like The Coleman Cot With Mattress, the Discman:

which may not be quite as lightweight- although I would lay odds the mattress is bulky more than heavy- but looks like it'll be easier on your back for a solid eight hours.

There are a number of review websites of camp cots- here's one: https://www.t3.com/features/best-camping-bed
