How do you shrink a screen-printed t-shirt without ruining the image?
I bought a shirt with a cool graphic design, but it's a little too big. I think I could shrink the cotton shirt with hot water and a hot dryer, but wouldn't that melt the image? A slightly oversized shirt is better than a fitted one with a wrinkled wrecked design, so I want to play it safe. It's not such a great shirt that I'm willing to pay for tailoring, though.

No, don't try. Depending on how the graphics were done, it could damage the ink. If the shirt is 100% cotton, it will shrink a bit when you launder, don't use hot water, and use the regular dryer setting. Don't try to force it. A little bigger really is better than potentially damaging. To note: when you do wash the shirt, turn it inside out with the image inside the shirt so it doesn't get banged up with all the knocking around it does in the washer and dryer.
