How big should a lap blanket be?
I'm weaving a blanket for my grandpa to keep on his lap while he sits in his recliner. Should this blanket only be big enough to cover his lap, or should it be large enough to sleep under if he wanted to?

A lap blanket is the same as a throw blanket. The sizes vary, and can be 50 inches by 36 to 40 for a smaller one, which would work well for just throwing over the lap and legs. A larger one would be 50 x 60 or so. Of course you can go larger but for your purpose, the 50 x 40 would be good.
