When is the best time to purchase an artificial Christmas tree?
Christmas is in about 6 weeks. Is it too close to the holiday to get a good off-season deal on fake trees?

You won't find much in the off-season idea of Christmas trees - there really is just seasonal shopping in stores for them. Retailers don't stock them other times. And you've got to go quickly this year in my opinion. I would suggest to go to art and craft stores where there are coupons and weekly sales. Michael's and Hobby Lobby in the US are two that come to mind, they usually have good prices on sales, and/or look for coupons online. Home Centers like Home Depot do have some "special buys" on artificial tress. Target stores didn't have any in stock at my local stores - yet. They were just started setting up, and nothing out yet. But all of them have availability online, and probably free shipping. And for a high-grade tree, Balsam Hill is a good source, and they do have sale prices on their site now. They are among the best of artificial trees, and pricey, but worth it.
It really depends on the stores and locations what you may find. Some stores are just now getting stock in, everything's been slower starting with the lockdowns. But right after Halloween is a good time to be looking. Stores typically get Halloween out fast, to get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But I'd let your fingers do some searching online before heading out to stores because all stores aren't stocked yet, but probably should be in this coming week or two.
