How can a student looking for part time work compete with an adult in a quest for work?
Seems that the students I know are having trouble finding work when so many adults are looking for work as well. How can they compete when they are clearly young and under educated at the moment?

The only difference between you and an adult competing for the same position is experience. There are many adults who only have high school degrees. What you need to do, is think outside the box. Because we are all in this pandemic together, you are certainly correct when mentioning everyone is looking for work. Use what you do have. Lots of recent education. Many districts are hiring tutors. Many families as well. You could also do an internship at the company you really want to work for. Getting in on the ground floor often leads to long term employment.
If your over 18, many websites are hiring for freelancers. Ads are being run for YouTube designers to blog writing about tractors. It is a great way to make extra money and stay safe. Also, grocery delivery and food delivery companies are always hiring if you have a car.
