Cleaning Under Heavy Furniture

I often find it hard to clean under heavy furniture without moving the entire piece of furniture. Often, the only time that I actually can clean it is when we move out of a place and the furniture has to be moved. By then, there is a thick layer of dust and dirt accumulated already.

What are some ways to clean under heavy furniture without moving it each time you clean?

    See this?  https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140924006508/en/New-Shark%C2%AE-Rotator%C2%AE-Powered-Lift--Away%C2%AE-Cleans-Where-Regular-Vacuums-Can%E2%80%99t

While I have always liked Shark vacuums, since having a stroke and losing some... abilities on my left side, I choose my tools to save me energy, and this Shark goes under my bed.  I lahks it!  It also has a wand that goes under my couch.  I lahks that, too!

I am unable to get under the refrigerator, of course, but it gets pulled out every three or four months anyway so the coils can get cleaned  (you really want to do that-  dirty coils will kill the motor) I can remove the motor/canister, lift it up, and clean cobwebby schmutz  from behind the washer/dryer, and even climb up on my little step stool to clean fan blades.  This thing is maaaahhhhh-velous!

Here's another thing to consider: As you- and everyone else- walks through the house, you are creating air currents, and these air currents are wafting bits of dust and debris into corners and under furniture where there are fewer air currents.  So, if you want less dust under furniture, it behooves you to clean up all the dust and stuff that makes up dust-bunnies (and dust-elephants sometimes) every day.  Less dust-stuff in the main areas means less dust-stuff everywhere- including under furniture.

Also, we-ell, I think back to the way my Mother cleaned and, while I cannot hold a candle to her, she moved ALL furniture at least once a month.  All.  Couches, beds, dressers-  if she could not reach under with the vacuum or a damp cloth, it got moved. Sometimes it took two or more people helpers to move something-  I always figured that's why I have so many siblings: More help in her chosen vocation of House Mother of the Year-  every year.  The woman stripped and waxed cork board floors bi-monthly!  Hands and knees cleaning, that is.  Me, I discovered Swiffers and only do that hands and knees stuff two or three times a year now.  But,  sometimes, whether you like it or not, you just should bite the bullet and move the furniture.

And then take ibuprofen with your choice of Fluid de Relaxation.
