Doggy Bags
I have two dogs and feel guilty whenever I use plastic bags to pick up their poo on walks. Are there more environmentally friendly options than typical doggy bags? Ideally these bags would be very small.

We have dogs- five dogs. Five. Dogs. Two small, one medium small, one medium and one giant. We no longer take them altogether on walks because we value our unbroken hips and would like to keep them that way- but I can tell you what we used to do.

We have a scooper. Like this:
It holds quite a bit- which is fortuitous because the giant, Lukas, an English Mastiff, is a prodigious pooper.
We simply carried this along, and scooped up any offending waste and then dumped it into the trash at the end of our walk. Now we use it to clean the yard. Works like a charm.
They sell bags that are compostable and made of corn starch I believe. They function just as well as the regular bags, and will degrade much more quickly in a landfill. They should also fit in any bag dispenser you already own.
