What can we do to make sure our ballots arrive on time?

A huge number of Americans will be voting by mail this year. There are major complications and slowdowns in the USPS processing system, and there is a risk that our ballots will arrive late. I have heard that adding a first-class stamp to the ballot will recategorize it and it will be sent faster. Is this true?

  1. I looked into this and there are several things you can do, depending on where you live. If you can, many sources recommended driving your completed ballot to your county elections office. Check your state secretary of state's website to find drop-off sites.

If you put it in the mail, it needs TWO first class or forever stamps to ensure first-class expediting because it is a large/oversized envelope. Some states allow you to track your ballot online as well.

The main thing is to vote as EARLY as you can and return it as EARLY as you can.
