My parents recently purchased a new SUV and their lab won't jump into it the way he did with their old car. He flat out refuses -- unless his meals are in there (they've taken to feeding him in there twice a day in their effort to sweeten the pot; he jumps in for food, but clearly that's not sustainable). He simply won't jump in for trips to the dog park or the vet or anywhere else they might need to bring him. They are seniors, so can't lift him. They've tried to put a bench there, but that only works in their garage, won't work on the trip home, so not a permanent solution. We need expert advice!
