At what point does a plot description become a spoiler?

When describing a story, some major plot points have to be given away so that potential viewers/readers have an idea of what to expect. Obviously, it is not a spoiler that Harry Potter will discover that he is a wizard. But it would clearly be considered a spoiler to describe the way he defeats Voldemort at the end. Somewhere in the middle, the plot description turns into a spoiler. Where do you think that line is?
