Home maintenance: What is the most reliable programmable, residential deadbolt?
I'm thinking of getting an electrical programmable deadbolt because I want my dog-sitter to have access to our side door, but I dont want to give them a key because I don't have an extra and don't want to have one made. What is the best sort of prgrammable deadbolt that is commercially available and not crazy expensive?

I have the Yale Assure Lock with Z-Wave and it works great. You can get a cheaper version of the same lock without wireless capabilities but this one integrates well with my Smartthings hub. Most of the keypad deadbolts are pretty similar so it will largely come down to aesthetics, budget, and brand loyalty (if such a thing exists for deadbolts). The Wirecutter has a pretty good writeup on electronic keypad locks HERE.
