What are some things that you can buy at a U.S. government auction?
I heard that there is going to be a U.S. government auction near me soon and I'm curious if it's worth going. What are the types of things they are typically selling?

Here is just about the most complete website information as to how a person can participate in the many, many types of government auctions; it is now a big business: https://www.usa.gov/auctions-and-sales
DH and I have taken part in some local military installation auctions; the usual pickings are battered desks, lockers, filing cabinets, some computer bits and pieces- most out of service but possibly repairable- motor parts, leftover bits and pieces from rehabbing buildings, and other projects. and... well, junk.
I remember at one in Oklahoma we picked up a desk chair and a decent filing cabinet. That was it.
Remember you likely cannot cancel your bid, and, being the government, don't consider not paying.
