Have cloudy and rainy days been proven to have an impact on mood or is such a concept just hearsay?
I often hear people speak of things like "the rainy blues" for example and, personally, think that I notice myself feeling less energetic and solemn on rainy and cloudy days. Has a connection between the two been proven or is the concept of such a connection hearsay?

This summer a rainy (or even a cloudy day) is a great relief! This will only get worse as we continue to destroy our ecosystem. But in past "normal times" (never to be seen again in our lifetimes) overcast days were more common and we looked forward to sunshine. That's because sun on skin produces Vitamin D, without which we develop (among other things) "Seasonal Affect Disorder" (SAD), which is pretty much the same as "rainy day blues". In the shorter, colder days of Winter, you won't expose much skin the sunlight and you may experience SAD even in this warmer world; then you should take Vitamin D to fend it off. I take it every day; you should probably consult a physician or a pharmacist to decide what dose is ideal for you.
