This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but I feel compelled to issue a diatribe against SEO.

We are living in a world where the "coin of the realm" is your attention and any personal information about you that helps to capture it, for whatever reason.  This is all in the service of putting more personalized advertising in front of you so that you will fulfill your primary societal role as a consumer.

This situation is epitomized by the commercial science of Search Engine Optimization, whose goal is to put your website higher on the list of URLs returned by Google (or whatever) in response to a query.  Many of the tricks utilized by SEO have nothing to do with whether your website actually offers anything useful to the searcher.  They are pure Madison Avenue psychological manipulation.  The accumulative effects of such cynical manipulation on our society are terrifying.

If you have created something that people actually need, by all means use SEO to help them discover it.  If not, please don't!

  2. Amir,

This is a huge and fascinating topic. There are so many resources out there that offer as much or little detail as you'd like.

For me, my favorite SEO content has come from Sam Oh, a YouTube star who does a fantastic job simplifying and explaining various SEO concepts while also being quite entertaining.

He's created most of his content as part of working for http://ahrefs.com as a consultant.

Here is the YouTube channel. Have fun!
