You need to crate train the puppy.

It's a puppy- and it's a chihuahua, a rather high strung breed, and so making sure you don't create a host of other problems trying to fix one problem is going to be important.  Chis bite more often than any other dog breed, so it is important to use appropriate training techniques.

Once you have the puppy crate trained, you will need to get a trainer in.  Again, chis can be sweet little dogs-  no, I can't even type that with a straight face: Chis are high strung, territorial, they often bond to one person n the house and the other is seen as an enemy- as are any visitors- and they are difficult to train-  you WILL need a trainer.

And that person will help you- ALL of you.

Please, I know it sounds like overkill, but when the dog is nearly a year old and goes beserk because you took something away from him, or has bonded to you and your wife gets her fingers bit trying to pet the dog, it will be too late.  Get a trainer in to give both of you pointers, and then work to train the dog so you are a happy family.

And THEN, your chi will be a sweet little dog.
