Flexible downspout daisy-chained together - needs tape or close enough for jazz?
I've connected two flexible downspouts for my new rain barrels, and as you can see from the attached image, the join between them is pretty ugly.
My question is would a couple of layers of some kind of waterproof tape be worth the trouble? And if so, what kind?

I betcha I could talk DH into trying some of that FlexTape stuff ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDeSODQ_hCo ) for something like this.
But what he would think is better would be to get some silicone sealant for windows and doors. Stuff is waterproof, you put it on like caulk and smooth it down, it dries clear, it will flex AND it can be peeled up and off if you need to change out drain spout pieces for some reason. Basically, it's the mucilage stuff that holds a coupon to a flyer and such- it sticks, it is waterproof and it peels off. If it smells like vinegar, it's what you want.
Gorilla Glue caulk-like stuff is good, too.
