IPhone glitching and unresponsive to touch

I previously had an iPhone 6 that was glitching like opening different apps closing different apps swiping on its own and just fully not responding to touch only every few minutes I then upgraded to an iPhone XR and signed into my iCloud and it started on this device but was fully functional before hand? I've went as far as creating a new Apple ID and factory resetting the iPhone and even restoring the iPhone using a Mac

    Hi Nevaeh,

    That sounds pretty frustrating. There are a number of different issues that can cause this problem from software to hardware. Since you've upgraded the phone and it's still happening, it's likely NOT a hardware problem.

    Let's take a look at the software problems that might be causing the issue and first steps to take:

    1. It's always a good process to start with a hard reboot of the phone. For iPhone XR's, the procedure is:
      1. Press and release the Volume Up button
      2. Press and release the Volume Down button
      3. Hold the unlock button until you see the Apple logo
    2. If that doesn't fix the problem, it could be auto screen brightness. You can turn this off by the following procedure:
      1. Settings --> Accessibility --> Display & Text Size --> Auto-Brightness
      2. Disable the radio button
    3. It could also be an app. Are there any specific apps you use across both the iPhone 6 and now on the iPhone XR that might be the culprit? If you're using an app regularly and notice it, that may be the problem. Try deleting the app and re-installing it.

    These guys do a great job of walking you through all the above, along with a few other steps to try if the above doesn't work.

    Hope that all helps!
