How do you find a great Kickstarter project?

Is it best just to search Kickstarter for something that seems interesting or watch social media for what's up and coming? It would be a lot of fun to be an early investor in a brand-new venture, especially for something that's way outside the box.

  1. Interesting question! For me, its a matter of following people and groups on a variety of media, so that the creative folks I know (and the folks they RT and follow) slide across my various feeds.  I love when I can support and promote a project for something cool and I often add the ones I see to my wekkly news report on my blog, so other folks can see them.

Kickstarter also does their own categories you can search and they put together round ups of cool projects and, of course, when I back one, I get notifications of others that are similar, but I'd say 90% of the projects I find came to me from someone I follow on social media. Good luck!
