Why is a zero in tennis called love?
There are countless other (more logical!) terms to describe zero/nothing. Anyone know the history of this term? It sounds sad!

It's an Anglicization of a French word, "l'oeuf". That's the word for "egg", which is shaped like a zero. Those crazy French!
The whole 15, 30, 40 scoring is from another French story, and the use of "deuce" to mean "tied at two", essentially, has nothing to do with the number 2, because it's from yet another French phrase. This is why I watch baseball. :-)
