What does it mean if someone says "the frog is boiling"?
I was attending my History class in College and the Professor presented an example where he was relating slavery with a "boiling frog" example, and he mentioned how they didn't percieve the dangers of the trap.

The expression is used to indicate that conditions are changing so slowly that who or whatever is being changed doesn't notice them. Anecdotally, if you put a frog in a container that has lukewarm water and very slowly raise the temperature of the water, the frog will not notice and won't jump out, even if it could. I'm not entirely sure how that would relate to slavery, however! Do you have any more details about how the expression was used?
