I answered a hangup call. Am I doomed?

I accidentally picked up a call that had a trustworthy-looking phone number. I get spam calls all the time and I never answer, but this time I was fooled. I said hello and the caller hung up immediately. What information did they get? What should I do now?

    Since you said you "picked up" I presume this is a land line you're talking about.  I think two possibilities top the list:


    1.  It was just a misdial and the caller was too embarrassed to apologize. 
    2.  It was a would-be burglar checking to see if anyone was home.  Not answering would be more dangerous.
