Why does my neighbor idle his truck for so long?

My next door neighbor has a newish Ford F150 that he idles for at least half an hour before driving. It's not terribly cold outside and he does this year round, so I can't imagine he's warming it up before he gets in. He does this any time of day and drives the truck often, so it's not like it's been sitting long. (I promise I'm not being a nosy neighbor - he parks in front of my house and I work from home. It'd be hard not to notice!) I'm not a truck owner. Does he know something about truck ownership that I don't?
