Is the Guy Kawasaki model of creating a pitch deck still the best approach for today's Angel Investors and VC firms?

Coach Kelvin wrote an interesting article on the 10/20/30 approach and Guy's pitch deck template. It's a great analysis of the book's key points and a quick read for anyone interested.

There are also a million different templates for pitch decks out in the world today. Many seem to be based on Guy's principles. Is his approach still the best way to create a compelling message for investors?
