Can I obtain work visas for computer programmers if their college degrees are in a different subject area?

I am investigating what the H1B requirements are to get visas for two software developers.

Reading through this website, it seems like you have to have a four-year degree in the field of work you'd be doing to qualify for the visa:

My question is if there are alternatives if the developer moved into that profession after college and whose college degree is in an unrelated field of study.
