Mid-Day Naps
I used to take naps during the day but now I don’t. Sometimes it throws me off my sleeping schedule and I go to sleep much later.
Do you take naps and do they help or hurt your sleeping schedule?

Unfortunately, I can no longer nap. Ticks me right off.
In my family, naps are part of our identity- we nap. We are nappers. Nappers R Us.
And I can't anymore.
I don't know what happened. Mother made us take naps until we were in grade school. Oh, I know now that it was to give herself an hour or so of quiet from six children, but at the time, I didn't and so we all slept for a bit. When my elder sister married, her husband would quietly tell all future in-laws at the family gatherings, while we, in the afternoon, went off, one by one, that the Starrs took naps. I didn't know any other way.
I took naps whenever possible- weekends, days off- until after I had a stroke a couple years ago, after which, well, I could rest my eyes. I could be alone with my thoughts, but I could no longer sleep. It's been a wrench.
According to research, nap-taking is healthy.
