  1. Your stuff will be pushing their stuff out of the way. Don't get carried away, they may not realize it until their stuff is moved. Moving in with someone is not the same as staying there often. That's easy, you may just leave a few things there and it's easy to adjust to. But when you move all your things in, that's a big step beyond and may not hit them the reality of it until all your boxes are in, and you keep moving their things out of the way to make room for yours. Do not under any circumstances remove anything of theirs. To find a happy medium, talk about the move first, what you'll be bringing, what they might expect, will they make room for you, and in particular, if there are things you want to display, talk about it. Do not move in without some  understanding how the place will be shared. And watch out for their many "favorite" things. 

     

    Oh, and one last thing, finances, keep full control of your own, don't go merging anything, talk about what expenses you will handle jointly.
