How can I convince my dachshund to go for a walk in the snow?
My low-rider enjoys/needs walks, but not when it's cold and snowy. His legs are so short, the snow comes up to his belly, even if the snow has barely accumulated on the ground. He's unable to wear dog booties (short legs and all) and he does wear a sweater, but that doesn't cover his entire undercarriage. Can I trick him into enjoying the winter weather?

Dachshunds have very thin coats and it's more likely the problem is that he is just too cold. I would imagine he also hesitates even when it's very cold outside with no snow? I think getting him a warm winter coat that has more protection than a sweater would be a great start.
As for the booties, you're completely right that they typically don't like to wear them and it's very hard to find some that fit well. Here is an article that talks about the breed in general, and specifically about finding the right booties to fit their little feet.
