Where is the best place to live if you want moderate temperature all year round?

My fiancé and I are from New York and we are getting sick of the northeast cold temperatures for part of the year. We have been discussing moving to a place where the temperature doesn't fluctuate as drasticalyl as New York. We don't mind a little bit of cold air but we'd like to avoid snowstorms, noreasters, and really frigid cold weather althogether. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A simple decision might be to move farther south where you'd get enough of the same kind of climate but not as much of a fierce winter, it's more moderate.  I have family that moved to North Carolina from New York, and they've been quite happy with their move, been there since 1999.  And the interesting experience they had is they've met a lot of former New Yorkers there.  The summers there are hot and humid, the winters do get cold, but not near as frigid as it was in New York,  and the winter is shorter. They've gotten some snow but not anywhere near what it's like in New York. You could check out near Charlotte or Raleigh - Charlotte averages 6 inches of snow, Raleigh about 4 inches on average.
