How can I wean myself off of Amazon?

Amazon is a souless company and I want to start using them less and less, but I rely on them for so much. It's so incredibly easy to have access to everything so fast. What are some tips for using them less in my day to day life?

I just went through this back in September! Here are a few ways I weaned myself off of Amazon:

    1. I would put something in my cart and leave it for a day or two. I gave myself a strict "no impulse buying" order (though it was hard to stick to, I'll admit!)

    2. If I wanted something, I started looking for the manufacturer's website and tried to purchase it from there. That way, if I really did need it, I was cutting out the ethical dilemma of buying from Amazon while still supporting the original vendor.

    3. I started avoiding the things that would trigger me firing up the Amazon app. Normally, I'd find myself scrolling through after work while sitting on the couch. So I spent more time avoiding that situation or changing it slightly. Instead of sitting on the couch, I'd go sit in one of my comfy chairs and read a book while leaving my phone somewhere else.

    4. I began to look at what was causing me to impulse buy so much. Was it stress, anxiety, boredom, something else?

    5. I'd remind myself why I wanted to stop buying from Amazon in the first place: it no longer made me feel good to do it, so I was going to honor that and treat myself to things which did make me feel good instead.
