How to potty train my son?

We have a 3 year old boy. We've been trying to get him potty trained forever now but he doesn't seem to want to do it. He knows what the potty is and how to use it, but never seems to remember to go on his own. What can we do to help speed this up?...

Getting 11 month old to sleep through the night
