Sometimes such queasiness can be caused by referred pain, or inflammation, or odd hormonal levels.
Do your friend a favor: If such queasiness is causing distress or interfering with her daily routine, she should see her medical health care provider. That is the only person who can tell her what is going on in her body, whether or not it is something to worry about, and how it can be treated, either way.
It's actually quite common to become queasy during menstruation, mostly from the hormonal and chemical changes the body is going through/ Keep in mind that menstruation actually is a product of the body preparing for a pregnancy. There's a huge buildup of blood in the uterus to provide protection for a potential pregnancy. Menstruation happens when there is no fertilization of an egg, so it expels all that preparation. So, queasiness is because of all the body's changes, and can also be from pressure and mild cramping.
