Gaming of the system is seriously discouraged. There was an issue of that early on, and it was stopped. There's no benefit in building points except to build your reputation. But if the reputation is invalid, meaning it was falsely raised, then it works against the site's ideal to seek the best qualified people for answering.
At this time, and while the site is growing, it is a concern for the founders, and they are working to ensure that this behavior is mitigated.
We're also early stages of working out kinks like two people gaming the system. We haven't done it yet, but we will implement additional protections to stop one person from liking and accepting too many answers from another single person. It is pretty easy to accomplish and is on our list of new features to add soon.
But great question!
Most people prefer to earn their reputation, and those seeking answers prefer dealing with people whose expertise is genuine.
Gaming the system is a good way to get yourself banned from a platform.
Hmmm... we need a "Thumb DOWN" icon for questions.
