How long does flour last?

I've been trying to figure this out, and have seen some conflicting information online. I want to buy a large bag of flour (25lb) because: 1. it's cheaper and 2. I plan to bake a lot of bread this winter. After purchasing, how long should the flour last before going bad? Also, what's the best way to store it?

The last bag I bought a couple weeks ago said Sell By next summer some time.  It doesn't matter to me, because I double bag it in plastic and stick it in the freezer-  it stays just fine in there until I need it.

So get your 25 pounds at a good price, and make up four or five pound Glad freezer bags of it, and place those in a plastic garbage bag and stick the whole thing in the freezer.  Done and- pardon the pun-  dusted.
