Good Doctors
We are trying to find a good doctor for our parents and it seems like referrals from friends are the best.
What other resources do you use to find a good doctor?

I live in Lower Merion Township, just outside the Philadelphia area. One of our best resources is a Facebook group that is extremely, extremely active. People ask all sorts of questions on there, mostly looking for recommendations for doctors, or lawn care people, etc. I would try to find a FB group in your area.
It's a huge help for us and a typical post there will get 30-50 responses within 24 hours. I'm sure that took a long time to build up that activity, but likely the work has already been done in your area also. If not, you could always kick one off. :) The beauty of this group is that they moderate political and religious discussion completely out of it with a zero tolerance policy. Avoiding polarizing discussions is one of the main bedrock principles to making a group like that work!
Good luck in your search.

As a physician, I would agree with referrals from friends/family that you trust. Many of the online physician rating sites are skewed by one-off patients that have a bad experience and do not represent the actuality of a physician's caliber/prowess/trustworthiness, etc.
